A Doctorate in a technical field is also acceptable. You should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience demonstrating knowledge of Intelligence Community translation fundamentals and standard operating procedures. We require individuals who can work autonomously, make sound decisions with minimal supervision, and have experience handling complex and large text and web data. Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, along with proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, C++, and Bash command-line tools, is necessary. Candidates should be able to analyze intricate linguistic challenges and devise innovative technical solutions. Experience and interest in cloud computing solutions, such as Docker and Kubernetes, are preferred. Additionally, you should have the ability to apply cutting-edge machine learning techniques to human language technology challenges, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams are also essential.
Responsibilities:
  • In this role, you will develop applications and/or APIs to enhance workflows and integrate new resources into existing Human Language Technology (HLT) tools. You will design tailored technical solutions to process unique or challenging data types and research, develop, evaluate, and integrate HLT capabilities. As a technical leader, you will guide cross-functional teams in the creation of AI and HLT solutions. Analyzing language processing needs, you will recommend innovative solutions that enhance cost and labor efficiency. You will be responsible for innovating and prototyping HLT systems or components based on priority operational missions and evaluating technology solutions against mission data and workflow requirements, providing actionable insights. It will be part of your duties to communicate complex ideas effectively to non-technical audiences through briefings or white papers and to lead projects or small teams to address complex HLT problems for our customers and project management office. You will also act as a principal advocate for HLT within our organization and the customer, serve as an HLT mentor for new employees, and integrate Leidos technology into program HLT efforts as appropriate.
